Connect to your future in the trades!
Navigating a future career in the trades can feel daunting. That’s why the new Calgary Trades & Technologies Collegiate (CTTC) provides Calgary Board of Education (CBE) high school students with hands-on opportunities to explore and experience careers in skilled building trades and related technologies, fields that are in high demand across Alberta and Canada and careers that power the world around us.
In partnership with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), this pathway supports:
- Real-world experiences
- Hands-on training
- Direct exposure to industry experts
This empowers students to gain the skills, confidence, and insight needed to prepare for and enter today’s workforce.
Who is this pathway for?
The pathway is suited for students seeking early exposure and a head start toward careers or post-secondary education in building trades and related technology fields.
Eligibility:
- Up to 100 Grade 10 students will be accepted into CTTC CALM for Trades course in Semester 2 of the 2025-2026 school year, beginning January 28, 2026
- Students in Grade 11 who have not yet completed their CALM graduation requirement will be considered
- Students should be on track to earn a Alberta High School Diploma OR Certificate of High School Achievement
- Students must be able to handle the rigor and time demands of a post-secondary program
Program Summary:
- Three-year program
- Begins the second semester of Grade 10, with exposure to diverse areas
- Continues throughout Grades 11 and 12
- Includes both online and on-site sessions at a variety of locations, including SAIT
